Typhoon Haiyan

No typhoon cyclones could have been recorded that super typhoon coded as Haiyan (or Yolanda in Philippine’s alphabetical cyclone names.) It was said that super typhoon Haiyan was fourth super typhoon in the world that ever been recorded.

 

Haiyan‘s sustain winds was 315 km/h (or 195 mph.) But Hurricane Camille‘s sustain winds was 305 km/h. Haiyan have surpassed the Camille’s record in 1969 from Atlantic Sea.

 

Haiyan was the unofficially fourth most strongest tropical cyclone that ever hit around the world. According to the history, Typhoon Nancy was still the number one strongest tropical cyclone that ever had at the record of 345 km/h. Second to Nancy was Typhoon Violet at the record of 335 km/h also in the year of 1961. And third was Typhoon Ida at the record of 325 km/h in 1958. But it was the second tropical cyclone recorded in Pacific region that became the strongest tropical cyclone.

 

Tropical cyclones or hurricanes are classified as one making in one meaning: a tropical cyclone with winds of 74 miles (119 kilometers) per hour or greater that occurs especially in the western Atlantic, that is usually accompanied by rain, thunder, and lightning, and that sometimes moves into temperate latitudes. 

 

Other worst typhoons that hit the country Philippines was Tropical cyclone Sendong (code name: Washi) with the record of 75 km/h, 1,268 deaths and 181 missing in 2011, Tropical cylone Pablo (code name: Bopha) with 185 km/h, 1,020 deaths and 844 missing in 2012 and Typhoon cyclone Reming (code name: Durian) with 195 km/h, 734 deaths and 762 missing. Ondoy (code name: Ketsana) was named severe tropical cylone with (105 km/h), 464 deaths and 37 missing and Juaning (code name: Nock-ten) with the record of 95 km/h and 77 deaths.
